A key part of the work of the Islamic Center of North Marin is the nuturing and engaging of our community. This page provides resources for ICNM community members to get involved in our masjid.
Board Nominations
The Islamic Center of North Marin (ICNM) is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors oversee the overall programs and operations of the masjid in accordance with the organization’s by-laws and religious non-profit 501(c)(3) designation.
ICNM Board of Directors (BOD) members are selected and appointed through a shura process that includes nominations from the community and approval by the existing BOD membership.

There are currently two open Board seats, and we are now soliciting nominations for these two seats.
If you know someone who you think would be a good addition to the ICNM Board, please submit a nomination form for them to be considered below. The name of the nominees and the first person who nominated them will be made public. (Note: People are not allowed to nominate themselves.)
TIMELINE:
- All nominations must be submitted by July 31, 2023 (deadline extended)
- The ICNM board will review and interview candidates, and announce the newly selected Board members so they will begin their terms on November 1, 2023

ICNM Committees
The activity of our masjid is driven and managed by teams of volunteers organized into programs and operations committees. Joining a committee is a great way to get involved in something you care about and help make an impact at the masjid.
Programs Committees
OUTREACH COMMITTEE
Leads and coordinate efforts to serve new Muslims and those interested in Islam, and to engage the larger community of our neighbors, interfaith groups, and civic organizations.

COMMUNITY COMMITTEE
Creates and plans community activities to build connection and fun, including picnics, religious celebrations, hikes, and other community gatherings.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Oversees educational activities including classes, workshops, after-school programs, and other offerings that help our community learn and grow in their understanding of Islam.

YOUTH COMMITTEE
Directs activities that focus on service and engagement of the youth, including youth halaqahs, youth outings and camps, youth sports, and more.

SISTERS COMMITTEE
Leads and coordinates programs, activities, and education specifically serving sisters in the community and assuring the programming and operations of the masjid meets their needs.

RELIGIOUS SERVICES COMMITTEE
Oversees delivery of essential Islamic rites and services, including counseling, nikah, janazah, shahadah, and more.

Operations Committees
FACILITIES COMMITTEE
Oversees the functioning and maintenance of the buildings and grounds of the masjid. This includes the functioning, cleanliness, security, and calendar of use of the facility.

FINANCE COMMITTEE
Under the guidance of the Board Treasurer, assists in the bookkeeping and financial management of the masjid, including producing financial statements.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
Plans and coordinates fundraising activities and donor management.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
Manages all marketing and communications for the masjid’s activities, including informing the community through websites, emails, social media posts, and announcements.
